Laurel and Hardy spent a total of three weeks at the Coventry Hippodrome, but played it only twice. Commencing 25 August 1947, they appeared there for two weeks. They were back almost exactly five years later - w/c 11 August 1952, but then ,for some unknown reason, didn't return during the 1953-54 tour. In 1947 the Boys uncharactereristically stayed at different hotels. Stan Laurel stayed at the Abbey Hotel, in Kenilworth, while Oliver Hardy stayed at the Clarendon, in Leamington Spa. In 1952 they stayed at the Chesford Grange Hotel, in Kenilworth.
